<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-pressure discharge lamp with an auxiliary lamp that starts illuminating with a lower applied voltage. <P>SOLUTION: A high-pressure discharge lamp 10 with an auxiliary lamp comprises a light emission tube 18 having a light emission part 26 and sealing parts 28a, 28b; a high-pressure discharge lamp 12 having a pair of electrodes 20a, 20b for main discharge and a pair of power supply means 22a, 22b; and an auxiliary lamp 14 having an airtight container 34, an internal electrode 36 having one end arranged in an internal space 40, and an external electrode 38 having one end fitted to an external surface of the airtight container 34 and the other end connected to the other power supply means 22b. Here, the internal space 40 is sectioned into a large and a small space 40a, 40b by the wide internal electrode 36, the external electrode 38 is arranged at a position facing the large internal space 40a sectioned by the internal electrode 36, and the auxiliary lamp 14 is arranged so that the large internal space 40a faces the sealing part 28a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
