The element (50) has a laminar base plane (52) extending in a main flow longitudinal direction (3), and limiting structures (57) for forming and lateral limiting of number of flow paths (59). The flow path exhibits an upstream flow distance between the limiting structures laterally assigned to the flow path, and a downstream flow distance between the lateral limiting structures for influencing flow guidance in the longitudinal direction, where the distances are different from each other. The flow paths are arranged on a lateral extension between the limiting structures. An independent claim is also included for a heat exchanger for exchanging heat between the fluids.
