PURPOSE: An online and offline combination game providing method based on a position based service is provided to obtain and transact an item on an offline mode, thereby combining an online game with the offline mode. CONSTITUTION: A portable terminal requests item obtainment information(S110). A server firstly receives position information of the portable terminal and provides item information of a surrounding current position of the portable terminal to the portable terminal(S120,S130). The portable terminal obtains and transmits an object image related to an item(S140). The server determines satisfaction of an item providing condition based on the object image and position information of the portable terminal, which is secondly received, and provides the item to the portable terminal corresponding to a determination result(S160).
