PURPOSE: A method for preparing multipotent cells is provided to obtain myogenic lineage, adipogenic lineage, osteogenic lineage, or neurogenic lineage. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing multipotent cells comprises: a step of obtaining differentiated cells from mammal; a step of treating the differentiated cells with a p21 downregulation inducing compound and preparing the multipotent cells. The differentiated cells are terminally differentiated cells and are selected from the group consisting of skeletal monocytes, cardiac muscle cells, smooth muscle cells, skin cells, chondrocytes, adipocytes, and bone cells.
