PURPOSE: An active hood latch device for a vehicle is provided to elevate the front end of a hood by elevating a hood lath assembly and to return to an initial position after the elevation of the assembly when a pedestrian collides with the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: An active hood latch device for a vehicle comprises a first emergency claw(210), a first emergency pawl(220), a second emergency pawl(230), and a second emergency claw(240). The first emergency claw is mounted on the rear surface of housing(200) and includes a locking hole for locking a hood latch assembly(100). The first emergency pawl is rotationally mounted on the rear surface of the housing. The second emergency pawl is rotationally mounted on the upper part of the first emergency pawl. The second emergency claw is mounted on the rear surface of the housing in order to rotate with a coil spring(242).
