In a linking machine the work is trimmed in advance of the needle by means of an electricallyheated wire. A wire 1, extending above the dial points and parallel thereto, is fixed at the lower end of rods 2, 3 which are carried by a cartridge 6. The latter has a bayonet connection with a socket 7 vertically adjustable on a fixed bracket 8. Wire 1 is connected via a cable 4 to a transformer 5. A pair of work guide plates 10 terminate in front of wire 1, and behind the latter is a tunnellike member 11 which extends to the stitching position 9. A curved guide plate 12, mounted behind wire 1, conveys the trimmings to the outside of the machine. Specification 958,034 is referred to.</p> |
