<p>A power tool with a switch 7 controlling a motor 3 driving a head 10 for use with a battery 4 having 14500 lithium ion cells. The cells are the same size as AA batteries with a diameter of 14mm and a length of 50mm. They are secondary cells, ie rechargeable, and are rated at 3.6V. There may be one cell or multiple connected in series or parallel. There could be a protection circuit 5 detecting voltage, current or temperature to terminate charge or discharge. The circuit can be adjacent and perpendicular or parallel to the cells, not extending beyond their ends. There may be a socket below and shorter than the battery to connect the tool to an external apparatus.
