<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal stripe type solid oxide fuel cell stack equipped with a support body having high strength and in which efficient power generation can be carried out, and a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of fuel cells 13 formed of the inside electrode layer 13a, a solid electrolyte layer 13b, and the outside electrode layer 13c laminated in this order are arranged side by side on the surface of a support body 11 of an electric insulating property equipped with a gas passage 12 inside. The inside electrode layer 13a of one of the fuel cells 13 and the outside electrode layer 13c of the other neighboring fuel cells 13 are electrically connected, and the plurality of fuel cells 13 are connected in series. The support body 11 is constituted by containing Ni, MgO, and Fe<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, in which Fe<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>is arranged to be 0.2 mol% or less and open-porosity 30% or more so that the strength of the support body can be improved, and efficient power generation can be carried out.
