An electric vacuum cleaner (1) is provided with a cleaner main body (2) including a dust-suction port (5). A motor-driven blower (6) and dust-separation case (12) are contained in the cleaner main body (2). The dust-separation case (12) is provided with a separation chamber (15) for separating dust contained in air drawn from the dust-suction port (5) from the air by means of centrifugal force, and a filter (31) which makes the separation chamber (15) and a vent chamber (23) communicate with each other. A dust-collection case (71) for collecting the separated dust is attached to the dust-separation case (12). Cleaning tools (51a, 51b) in contact with the filter (31) are provided in the separation chamber (15). The filter (31) and cleaning tools (51a, 51b) are relatively rotated through a filter drive mechanism (41) in synchronization with an action for detaching/attaching the dust-collection case (71) from/to the dust-separation case (12). By virtue of this rotation, dust adhering to the filter (31) is removed by the cleaning tools (51a, 51b). |
