DC-DC CONVERTER AND LIGHT EMITTING DIODE DRIVING DEVICE INCLUDING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A DC-DC converter and a light emitting diode driving device including the same are provided to reduce the voltage stress of a circuit element and to increase the efficiency of the DC-DC converter, thereby reducing the generation of an electromagnetic interference. CONSTITUTION: A coupled inductor boost cell(A) includes an output diode(Do2) connected to an output terminal(Vo). A clamp and energy transfer cell(B) includes a clamp diode(D1), a clamp capacitor(C1), and an energy transfer diode(Do1). The clamp diode is connected to a coupled inductor, and the clamp capacitor is connected to the clamp diode. The energy transfer diode is connected to the output diode. The clamp diode and the clamp capacitor limit a voltage applied to a switch(Q) to be a low voltage. While the switch is turned on by the energy transfer diode, energy is transferred to the clamp capacitor, and a voltage applied in the output diode is clamped up to the voltage of the output terminal.
