PURPOSE: A tourist guide system using a location based service and a method thereof are provided to offer a location based service by including a plurality of mater/slave terminals with GPS(Global Positioning System). CONSTITUTION: A third terminal(30) confirms a location of a first terminal based on a first relative location, a second relative location, a first absolute location, and a second absolute location received from a second terminal. The third terminal extracts message data for a specific object existing in the location of a first terminal. The third terminal transmits the extracted message data to the first terminal. When the first terminal is located on a forked road, the third terminal extracts path data. The third terminal transmits the extracted path data to the first terminal.
