<p>The present invention provides methods, transmitters, and receivers for digital communication systems with improved time diversity for rotated QAM constellations in two or more dimensions. This is achieved by spreading the components of each constellation block evenly over time so that the temporal distance between components of the same constellation block is maximized. Specific implementations of a permutation that is to be applied to the cells of a forward-error-correction block are disclosed.</p> |
