PURPOSE: A secondary battery is provided to improve stability by inducing a short circuit when overcharged and equipping cap-plate including displacement plate by reacting on increased pressure of a case inside. CONSTITUTION: A secondary battery(100) comprises an electrode assembly(110) including the first electrode, the second electrode, and a separator, a case(140) accompanying the electrode assembly, a cap plate, a cap assembly(150) including a short element(161) connected electrically to the first or the second electrode by formed with the first through-hole(151c) on the cap late, and a displacement plate(160) located on the first through-hole. The displacement plate is located from the lower part of the short element, and contacted on the lower part of the short element by separated from the first through-hole by increased pressure of the case inside.
