PURPOSE: An airtight battery is provided to minimize deformation of a battery case even when the inner pressure of the battery case is increased. CONSTITUTION: An airtight battery(1) comprises a pillar battery case filled with an electrode material and liquid electrolyte. On the side of the battery case, a concave part(41) which is bent toward the inside of the battery case is formed on the ridge(L). The ridge is formed on the side of the battery case when the battery case is expanded by the increase of inner pressure. The concave part is located on a stylobate part which is extended toward the inner side of the side from the end part in an axis direction of the battery case.
