PURPOSE: A self-refresh pulse generating circuit is provided to prevent a refresh fail by generating a self-refresh pulse with a short cycle in an initial section after the entry of a self-refresh mode. CONSTITUTION: A control signal generating unit(2) generates a control signal whose level is shifted in an initial section termination point after the entry of a self-refresh mode. A self-refresh pulse generating unit(3) generates a self-refresh pulse with a controlled cycle in response to the control signal in the self-refresh mode. An address counter(29) counts a row address in response to the self-refresh pulse. A control signal output unit(21) outputs the control signal in response to the self-refresh signal and the row address.
