Disclosed is a solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell membrane comprising an anion exchange membrane that contains a hydrocarbon-based anion exchange resin, wherein the water permeability at 25° C. is 1400 g m-2 hr-1 or greater, the anion exchange capacity is 0.2 to 5.0 mmol·g-1, the percentage of water content at 25° C. is 7% by weight or greater, and the thickness is 3 to 50 mum. It is especially preferable as a solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell membrane when said anion exchange membrane is an ion exchange membrane with a 5 to 15 mum-thick porous membrane substrate, wherein the voids in said porous membrane are filled with a hydrocarbon-based anion exchange resin. |
