<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control apparatus for an internal combustion engine which recirculates exhaust gas to an intake side, while suppressing evaporation of lubricating oil. <P>SOLUTION: An ECU performs reduced cylinder operation in which part of cylinders in a multicylinder engine are made to be rested. In an intake stroke where a piston of a resting cylinder moves downwards, the ECU opens an intake valve and an exhaust valve to generate mixed intake inside the cylinder, where fresh air and exhaust gas are mixed in a combustion chamber of the resting cylinder, and in an exhaust stroke where the piston of the resting cylinder moves upwards, the ECU opens only the intake valve. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
