<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an SR motor with excellent rigidity. <P>SOLUTION: An SR motor comprises: a stator having a substantially annular shape; and a rotor rotatably disposed at a central part of the annular shape. The stator comprises: an ultra-magnetostrictive section that forms at least a part of the annular shape of the stator; a plurality of stator salient poles protruding in a center direction of the annular shape of the stator; and a coil wound around the stator salient poles. A magnetic field is generated inside the stator by supplying current to the coil. A compressive stress in the direction of a magnetic flux in the magnetic field is generated in the stator by the ultra-magnetostrictor section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
