<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buffering member which is easy to handle and a method for manufacturing the same, and, to provide an optical fiber cable using such a buffering member. <P>SOLUTION: A buffering member 11 has a length direction and comprises a plurality of support parts 12 which are vertically attached to coated optical fibers 31 to support the coated optical fibers 31. The buffering member 11 has a configuration in which a plurality of support parts 12, 12,...are connected by a sheet-like base material 13. The buffering member 11 is arranged between the coated optical fibers 31 and a sheath to form a buffer layer of an optical fiber cable.
