<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode 5 for water treatment capable of maintaining high disinfection performance for treated water and easily attachable to an existing water treatment apparatus 4. <P>SOLUTION: The electrode 5 for the water treatment includes first electrode parts 41, 42, 43 for electrolysis immersed in the treated water containing chloride ions, and a second electrode part 44 immersed in the treated water in a state non-conductive to the first electrode parts 41, 42, 43, and surrounding the first electrode parts 41, 42, 43. Moreover, the electrode 5 for the water treatment is used by being immersed in the treated water as a third electrode 5 in the water treatment apparatus 4 electrolyzing the treated water by passing a current at least to the first electrode parts 41, 42, 43. The electrode 5 for the water treatment includes a diamond depositing electrode 51 depositing conductive diamond on a base material, and a conductive part 52 electrically conductive to the diamond depositing electrode 51.
