<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater including a secondary battery and operated using electric power stored in the secondary battery at power interruption to supply hot water. <P>SOLUTION: The water heater 10 includes the secondary battery 12 normally charged by power supply from a commercial power source 11, and, at power interruption, operates electric equipment by power supply from the secondary battery 12 to supply hot water. Normally, the secondary battery 12 is periodically put in a discharge mode to discharge stored electric power. Hot water can thereby be supplied using electric power from the secondary battery 12 at the power interruption, and the service life of the secondary battery 12 can be extended by the periodic discharge of the secondary battery 12 at the normal time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
