<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a battery in which at least one of a collection terminal member and a welding tool can be easily inserted inside of a wound uncoated portion in a flat wound electrode body, and a mixture layer uncoated portion and the collection terminal member can be easily welded. <P>SOLUTION: Both endpoints 143, 144 of a core material 140 are not extended on a same plane as a central part 141, but form a shape extended obliquely in a direction crossing a surface of the central part 141, or form a shape including a level difference with respect to the surface of the central part 141. In a welding process, a part of a mixture layer uncoated portion 130c, 120c that makes a wound uncoated portion 130d, 120d, is pushed up radially outwardly by both endpoints 143, 144 of the core material 140 to form a wound uncoated portion space S.
