<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a putter head including a face insert made of CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) that exhibits excellent ball spin performance. <P>SOLUTION: This putter head includes a recessed portion 2H formed in the front surface (face surface) of a head body 2. A face insert 3 is disposed in the recessed portion 2H. The face insert 3 is SMC (Sheet Molding Compound) press molded, and has a score line penetrating in the shape of a slit by laser machining.
