<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine capable of accomplishing a stable stratified combustion at a low cost without requiring any complicated constitution. <P>SOLUTION: The control device is used for the internal combustion engine which is configured so that two suction ports are provided in parallel for one combustion chamber and a tumble flow is formed in a cylinder with the air introduced from the two suction ports, and is equipped with a central ignition plug and port injection valves installed at the suction ports so as to inject the fuel into the suction ports. Air is sucked into the cylinder from the two suction ports, while the fuel is injected from one of the port injection valves, and the mixture gas of the air and injected fuel is sucked into the cylinder from one of the suction ports, and from the other suction port, the air is sucked in; in this stratified combustion mode, the fuel injection timing of the one port injection valve is controlled so that the mixture gas around the central ignition plug will have a fuel density for making stratified combustion at the prescribed ignition timing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
