IMAGE FORMING METHOD AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a countermeasure against a shock without efficient deterioration when a storage unit is used in common for image forming output processing and data processing.

SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a storage unit 110 for storing inputted job data: an image forming unit 170 for forming an image from image data converted from the job data; a detection unit 104 for detecting a predetermined condition where a shock can occur in the image forming apparatus; and a control unit 101 for controlling reading from the storage unit and writing into the storage unit. When the detection unit 104 detects the predetermined condition, the stop of driving of the storage unit 110 is controlled with predetermined driving stop timing in accordance with a data reading or writing state.
