<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum-type washing and drying machine with a lid easy to open. <P>SOLUTION: A drum-type washing and drying machine comprises a lid 2, a grip 20 and an engaging hook 21. The grip 20 comprises a pressing part 22e that contacts with a contact part 21a provided at the engaging hook 21. The engaging hook 21 is configured to rotate in a direction to cancel the lock of the lid 2 by being pressed with the pressing part 22e at the contact part 21a when the grip 20 is swung. The lid 2 is configured to be locked at a closed position by the engaging hook 21 when the contact part 21a is located at a first contact position on the pressing part 22e, while the lock of the lid 2 with the engaging hook 21 is canceled when the contact part 21a is displaced from the first contact position to a second contact position.
