STRIP AND MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR PNEUMATIC TIRE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve adhesion between an inner liner and a carcass ply of a pneumatic tire in order to reduce the crack growth due to the repeated bending deformation during the running.

SOLUTION: A strip is made of a thermoplastic elastomer composition and spirally wound on a cylindrical drum to form a tire inner liner. The strip for forming the inner liner is composed of a first layer on the tire inside and a second layer disposed adjacently to a carcass. At least either one of the layers is an isobutylene based block copolymer comprising a polymer block mainly composed of isobutylene and a polymer block mainly composed of an aromatic vinyl based compound. At least one of the blocks is an elastomer composition containing an isobutylene based modified copolymer being a random copolymer containing β-pinene. The strip has a body and ear parts on both sides of the body. The thickness of the strip body is 0.05-1.0 mm. The thickness of the ear part is thinner than the thickness of the strip body. The width of the ear part is 0.5-5.0 mm.
