<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that it is difficult to bring all cells into full charge state, when charging a battery pack with a power supply device in a state where the capacity of cells in the battery pack is varied. <P>SOLUTION: Each module M1-Mm constituting a high voltage battery 10 is connected with an inter-module capacitor Cm via an inter-module matrix converter MMC. The inter-module capacitor Cm is connected with a commercial power supply 14 via switching elements Sp, Sn, and a PFC circuit 12.
