<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of highly accurately performing automatic focus processing, even in an object in which a point light source is dominant, such as a night scene and to provide an imaging method. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus including an imaging element outputting an image signal corresponding to an object image obtained through an imaging lens, lens moving means moving the imaging lens, and automatic focus detection means deciding a focus according to image data obtained from the image signal includes point light source detection means determining whether or not the object image is a point light source object by a luminance component included in the image data and imaging element driving setting means changing the drive condition of the imaging element, when the object image is the point light source object. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
