<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless tag communication device capable of easily, quickly and efficiently performing recovery even when a wireless tag to be retrieved is missing. <P>SOLUTION: The wireless tag communication device detects communication state between an antenna and a specific wireless tag to be retrieved and stores a transmission power value in a state in which the communication state is better than a prescribed value. The device decreases the transmission power for the wireless tag and, when the communication state becomes worse than the prescribed value, increases the transmission power more than the value on the basis of the stored transmission power value to communicate with the wireless tag.
