PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent uneven wear of a shoulder rib area in a heavy-duty tire while increasing rolling resistance performance.
SOLUTION: An auxiliary groove is formed in the shoulder rib area between a shoulder-circumferential main groove and a tread end, to divide the shoulder rib area into a main rib part positioned on the tire-axially inside of the auxiliary groove and an auxiliary rib part positioned outside. A high-modulus rubber layer which forms a part of a tread surface and has predetermined width and thickness is provided in the main rib part. When the tire is in contact with the ground, the average ground-contact pressure P1A of the high-modulus rubber layer falls within the range of 0.85-0.95 times the averaged ground-contact pressure P1B of a crown area between the shoulder-circumferential main grooves.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
