<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus, an image forming apparatus and an image reading method capable of realizing improvement in reading speed or reading image quality of color image data selectively in accordance with a situation. <P>SOLUTION: Color image data is read from a document by selecting according to predetermined conditions from two modes as follows: a high image quality reading mode (S31, S51) in which plural CIS read white reference data from a white reference member (S2), the read white reference data reads color image data from a document by excluding one or more CIS satisfying predetermined exclusion conditions and only using other one or more CIS; and a high speed reading mode (S71, S72) in which color image data is read from the document by sharing and reading plural image data corresponding to plural color light emit by plural light sources by the plural CIS at the same time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
