The invention relates to metal forming, namely to the methods for replacing heads in technological process for obtaining forgings from ingots and billets previously deformed in forging devices. In the process of replacement of heads in a forging device comprising more than two heads, the latter are approached to a contact with each other and the nearest pairs of heads are rigidly interconnected with ties. After that, the heads are disconnected from the holders, the latter are moved apart with providing possibility of holding structure in the assembled position, the above structure of connected heads are grabbed by a lifting device and removed from the working area of forging device. The installation of replacement heads is carried out in reverse order. The invention provides simultaneous withdrawal from the working area of forging device of all heads and simultaneous introduction into thus area of all replacement heads, which simplifies the replacement of heads, significantly reduces the time for this operation resulting in increased output of the process of equipment changeover. |
