BIOMASS PRETREATMENT UNIT, AND BIOMASS AND COAL MIXED-FIRING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biomass pretreatment unit and a biomass and coal mixed-firing system, capable of more efficiently crushing biomass for easy firing.

SOLUTION: The biomass pretreatment unit supplies biomass 140 to a crushing apparatus 26 for crushing the biomass 140 and includes: a biomass supply tank 24 to supply the biomass 140; an indirect heating means (vapor 203a) to preheat the interior of the biomass supply tank 24 by indirect heating; a feeder 25 to supply biomass preheated in the biomass supply tank 24 to the crushing apparatus 26; and a direct heating means to introduce part 150b of a boiler exhaust gas to the inside thereof from the side of the crushing apparatus of the feeder 25 and making the preheated biomass brittle while heating the preheated biomass to a predetermined temperature within the feeder 25.
