<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective and proper breakwater structure comprising such a fail safe function that a breakwater function can be presented as persistently as possible without being destroyed even by tsunami beyond the estimated scale. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of piles 11 are installed in a stand-alone state by being driven on the seabed at intervals and a slab-shaped levee 12 constituted of steel plates is installed between the piles 11. The piles 11 are capable of maintaining the stand-alone state even against wave pressure in the case where the wave height exceeds the estimated scale. The levee 12 maintains a breakwater function by shutting the clearances between the piles 11 for the wave height in the estimated scale and is installed to be opened/closed flexibly so as to be opened to the land side with wave pressure in the case where the wave height exceeds the estimated scale, and to be closed naturally after the end of tsunami. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
