<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable laser light source system for medical treatment, the system being capable of smoothly performing a therapy with a 2.9 μm band laser beam at a dental chair without using a special light guide device. <P>SOLUTION: A laser light source system for medical treatment comprises at least three main components of an excitation laser light source device, a long fiber light guide device, and a small size 2.9 μm band laser device. The long fiber light guide device comprises a quartz fiber, the small size 2.9 μm band laser device comprises a laser medium of a group II-VI semiconductor doped with a transition metal ion, and the excitation laser light source device comprises a solid-sate laser oscillator capable of oscillating a 2.9 μm band laser beam of 100 mJ or more with a peak power of 1 kW or more, the device oscillating an excitation laser pulse beam in a wavelength region between 1.5 and 2.2 μm. Further, the system can provide a 2.9 μm band laser therapy beam from one excitation laser light source device to a plurality of dental chair therapeutic apparatuses, since the system is provided with a beam switcher. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
