<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating dolomite sludge capable of treating either of dolomite slurry or dolomite cake as dolomite sludge, and obtaining a material for a soil improving material and an industrial material such as a material for cement, and to provide the soil improving material containing a product material obtained by the treatment method. <P>SOLUTION: A method for producing the material for the soil improving material includes a reaction step of mixing and reacting the dolomite sludge and sulfuric acid, and generating calcium sulfate and magnesium sulfate, and a separation step of separating the calcium sulfate and the magnesium sulfate.
