<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric vibration device preventing a piezoelectric vibration piece and a container from coming into contact while suppressing a decrease in mechanical strength of the container. <P>SOLUTION: A crystal vibrator 1 includes: a tuning fork type crystal vibration piece 3' having a tapered part 37 increasing in width continuously in an extension direction of a pair of vibration arms 36, 36 at tips of the vibration arms 36, 36, and a wide-width part 38 having a width larger than the width of the vibration arms at a tail of the tapered part; and a container having a recessed part 20 for accommodating the tuning fork type crystal vibration piece 3', and a thick part 25 and a thin part 21 being formed on an inner bottom surface of the recessed part 20; and a cover 4 airtightly sealing the recessed part 20.
