<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency stop device for an elevator having a structure with fixtures which are hard to deform and are durable even when the emergency stop device operates in emergency. <P>SOLUTION: The emergency stop device for the elevator has: a pair of braking elements 7 which are arranged facing to each other so as to hold therebetween a guide rail 2 provided in a hoistway, and have holes respectively formed from the top surface toward the longitudinal direction of the guide rail 2 for the predetermined distance; and a lifting member 9 which is connected to a link moving together with movement of a governor rope, and has a shape to be slidably inserted into the pair of holes formed in the braking elements 7. When the link is operated, the lifting member 9 is lifted upward and the lifting member 9 and the braking elements 7 slide in accordance with the lift of the lifting member 9, so that the braking elements 7 hold the guide rail 2 therebetween. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
