<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce oscillation of an outer tank when starting dewatering and oscillation of a washing machine outer frame during the dewatering by reducing a use amount of a functional fluid. <P>SOLUTION: In a washing machine, an upper end side of a damper 32 disposed between a bottom part of an outer tank 33 and a bottom part of a washing machine outer frame 30 is fixed to an upper side mounting plate 43 through a pair of elastic bodies 42a, and a lower end side of the damper is fixed to a lower side mounting plate 41 through a pair of elastic bodies, and attenuation means 42 for attenuating a swing motion of the outer tank is provided in at least one of the elastic bodies. The attenuation means includes: a liquid chamber 42b formed smaller than the elastic bodies and disposed inside the elastic bodies; a functional fluid 42c formed of a magnetic viscous fluid or an electro-rheological fluid enclosed in the liquid chamber; and variable means 42d for variably generating a magnetic field or an electric field.
