<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize stable optical transmission in a wavelength division multiplex optical transmission system even when the permeation characteristics of a wavelength separation multiplex element of the system fluctuates with the passage of time. <P>SOLUTION: A control device 40 of an optical transmitter/receiver device 14-1 refers to a wavelength correspondence table 42 to read in the wavelengths assigned for uplink and downlink. Optical transmitter/receiver devices 14-1, 70-1 try transmitting/receiving an optical signal in the wavelength assigned for downlink and in the wavelength assigned for uplink. When no response signal is received from the optical transmitter/receiver device 70-1 within a certain time, the control device 40 notifies the operator of an error. If a response signal is received but its signal quality is less than a prescribed threshold, the control device 40 executes fine-tuned adjustment of the uplink and the downlink wavelengths. In the fine-tuned adjustment, signal quality is examined with regard to three wavelengths including the current wavelength and those preceding and following it in an assigned wavelength band, and updating with the best is made. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
