METHOD FOR MODELING ACUTE ILEUS

A method for modeling acute ileus provides for laparotomy, revision of small intestine, and ligation. The midline laparotomy is performed under the general anesthesia with Ketamine. The portion of the ileum is exteriorized and treated with Decametoxin. The mesentery is pierced at the vascular-free area directly beneath the intestinal wall and tied up with slight tension avoiding mechanical traumatization of the intestinal wall. The cavity is washed with Decametoxin solution and dried. The operation wound is sutured layer-by-layer. The suturing of each layer is preceded by Decametoxin treatment.
