<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antimicrobial composition with enhanced antimicrobial property and excellent clarity which can be used for an antimicrobial and cleaning application as it is and which can also be used by being mixed into a medicinal product, food, and the like, in response to the increasing demand for the cosmetic product and medicinal product that include no or only reduced amount of an antiseptic and antifungal agent, such as paraben (para-hydroxybenzonate), benzoic acids, salicylic acids and the like used in the cosmetic product (including quasi drug), the medicinal product, and the food as the antiseptic and antifungal agent, in view of increasing safety-oriented consumer mind. <P>SOLUTION: The antimicrobial composition includes an O/W emulsion with an average particle size of 150 nm or smaller, and containing a glycerol medium chain fatty acid ester containing 80% or more monoester and a hydrophilic nonion surfactant with 15 or higher HLB. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
