<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater including a secondary battery and operated using electric power stored in the secondary battery at power interruption. <P>SOLUTION: The water heater 10 has a commercial power source 13 as a power supply source, and electric equipment used for the water heater 10 is of direct current specifications. The water heater 10 includes a converter 37 converting ac power from the commercial power source 13 into dc power, and the secondary battery 35 charged with dc power output from the converter 37.
