<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct off-center skew of paper with high accuracy to improve printing quality. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device includes: an image forming section for forming an image on a sheet; a sheet conveying section for conveying the sheet; an off-center skew correction section for moving the sheet during conveyance in a direction of crossing a paper passing direction before image formation, to correct off-center skew of the sheet; a sheet position measuring section for measuring the position in the crosswise paper-passing direction of the sheet during conveyance; and a control section for controlling image formation and the off-center skew correction section. The control section corrects off-center skew by use of the off-center skew correction section in response to a measurement result of the sheet position measuring section, and thereafter, in response to a measurement result measured again by the sheet position measuring section, performs error processing or decides an adjustment amount in the subsequent off-center skew correction when the off-center skew amount of the sheet based on the measurement result is equal to or larger than a predetermined amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
