<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyglycerol fatty acid ester which exerts further excellent surface tension reducing capability when applied, as a surface tension reducing agent, to cosmetic material, drug materials, quasi-drug material, daily commodity material, agrichemical material and industrial material. <P>SOLUTION: The polyglycerol fatty acid ester includes: a polyglycerol having total concentration of triglycerol and tetraglycerol of 50 wt.% or more, with the respective concentration of triglycerol and tetraglycerol being within the range of 10-70 wt.%; and an 8-18C saturated or unsaturated fatty acid.
