<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for promptly manufacturing a pleated filter cartridge which does not have a horizontaslly extending shelf on the formed bottom end cap. <P>SOLUTION: The method manufactures a pleated filter cartridge 100 by disposing a pleated filter 102 on the mold, and adding the polymerization potting compound to an internal cavity of the pleated filter 102. The part encircled by the pleat of the top surface of the mold is covered with the potting compound.
