<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction stirring and joining apparatus capable of preventing joining failure even if an irregularity occurs in joined members. <P>SOLUTION: The friction stirring and joining apparatus 1 for joining joined members W1 to each other includes: a tool holder 12 holding a tool 11 for joining the joined members W1 to each other; a pressing unit 13 installed ahead in the direction of joining by the tool 11 for pressing a junction surface of the joined members W1; and an irregularity detector 17 detecting an irregularity between the joined members W1 between the pressing unit 13 and the tool 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
