摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque damping device, capable of absorbing torque fluctuations regardless of the magnitude of incoming torque or energy. <P>SOLUTION: A sprag 70 is given a biasing force in a locking direction in which it is engaged with an inner ring 30 and an outer ring 60. Therefore, when a first input member 11 (input member) is moved in a predetermined direction, the sprag 70 is engaged with the inner ring 30 and outer ring 60. Since at least one of the inner ring 30 and outer ring 60 is formed of an elastic body elastically deformable in the radial direction, the elastic body is elastically deformed in the radial direction by a radial component force of the sprag 70. Since the time for the elastic body to absorb power can be extended by tilting of the sprag 70, the energy input to the first input member 11 is absorbed by the elastic body. The energy to be absorbed by the elastic body can be increased as the tilting angle of the sprag 70 increases.
