PURPOSE: A probe composition, a DNA chip, and a kit for classifying whiteflies and a method for classifying whiteflies using the same are provided to determine the biotype of Bemisia tabaci and to quickly test a large amount of sample. CONSTITUTION: A probe composition for classifying whiteflies contains: one or more probes selected from the group consisting of oligonucleotides with base sequences of sequence numbers 9 and 10, which specifically binds to COI(cytochrome oxidase subunit I) gene region in a mitochondria DNA of whiteflies, and oligonucleotides which is complementary to the oligonucleotides with base sequences of sequence numbers 9 and 10; and a probe of an oligonucleotide with a base sequence of sequence number 11 which specifically bind to COI gene region, and an oligonucleotide which is complementary to the oligonucleotide with the base sequence of sequence number 11. A method for classifying whiteflies comprises: a step of amplifying SNP site of mitochondrial COI gene and preparing a PCR product; a step of hybridizing the PCR product with a probe which is specific to whiteflies; and a step of determining whether the biotype is Bemisia tabaci or Trialeurodes Vaporariorum.
